I believe fashion is a physical expression that is responsible for communicating so much more than what words or thoughts can create. With that being said, strive to remain humble, vulnerable, and fun to the consistent changes that fashion forces us to adapt to, so that I can continue to write truthfully about what those changes mean to me.

Use this pic for my profile then write whatever you want for my bio. I don’t like writing about my self in the third person.

I didn’t win best dressed in high school, so now I write. Those who can’t do teach (or write), I guess. Spent way too long attempting to write something witty about myself, but truth is I’m a lost college student getting a degree in anthropology (who does that?). Currently learning how to sew. Once again I should stick to writing. Oh…& I’m firmly against the return of the low-rise.

Madalene Hartl writes for Perime magazine. She studies Psychology at Umass Amherst. She enjoys thrifting, baking, drawing, painting, the jersey shore, bagels, and low rise jeans. Her favorite color is green. On an average day, you may find Madalene listening to her CD collection, drinking yerba mate, or cutting her crop tops to be even more cropped. She has always loved fashion, especially the culture surrounding it, and is constantly curious to learn more.

Nick Daoust is a Perime writer-intern and high school senior. Caffeine dependent since eighth grade, he’s excited to spend his first year of college in New York aimlessly taste-testing coffee shops (and studying). Besides a good oat milk latte, Nick also enjoys watching cult classics, drawing, and spending too much money on vintage clothing.

Too young to start over, too old to start over; If you don’t know me, just read in between the lines of the articles, ‘cause I’m in charge of editing all of this.

Lover of flowers, art history, cats, and dresses. From Northern California. I write because I think too much and if it all gets stuck in there I may lose my mind. I graduated from college in Seattle in 2019 and after a year of being completely lost, moved across the country to try something new. So far it’s working out. I’ll play you a song on the piano.
